Ok got this colored.  I like how it turned out.  I was struggling a lot with the colors.  I tried to stay within a limited color palette which is a bit new for me.  So it was either hard because of that or the simple fact that I haven't done any digital coloring for months.

Small wizard

Line work done.  I'm hoping it doesn't look too busy once the colors are in.  Which will be the next step!

Sketches

Just some sketches I put together.

Friday, April 27, 2012

Hey guys. Many of you already know but I've started going to school at the Art Institute. I'm having a lot of fun! Classes are tough this semester, lots of modeling to do. I want to post some of my assignments and progress here. This was for Texture mapping. It still needs some work.
A couple concepts for character design class. We were supposed to combine three animals. I choose a deer, cheetah and bird.
A non-school piece I do want to share is a fan art from Game of Thrones I finished up just a couple weeks ago.

Fairies and Dragons

My newest stuff. The fairies started out as a sketch I did while at the hospital with Kris. When I got me cintiq (yay for cintiq, I LOVE it!!) I needed something to practice on so scanned that sketch in, outlined and colored it in photoshop. The blue and green dragon was another practice. The red, yellow and brown dragon is an Avian. The character design isn't mine and that info can be found here: It's for a contest on deviant art. Think it turned out pretty nice though I'm worried by the competition.

That's all for now :)

Ok its been a while.

A couple images I've done recently. I feel like I'm turning a point in my art getting closer to where I'm hoping to be with my skills. I know these images have their flaws but I learned a lot while doing them! Gotta keep pushing. :)

This one is a present I did for a good friend, happy birthday!

I was trying out a new technique with my colored pencils, it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do another!

Been Going To School

Ok, so I have been very long in posting anything. This is an another Art Trading Card that I sold on Ebay.

I was commissioned to draw a dragon for a friend as a Christmas present. I'll get it scanned in soon hopefully so I can share it with you.

I've been going to school and studying Graphic Art. It's been a lot of fun learning more about Photoshop and Illustrator. My latest class we were working with Flash and I'm loving working a bit with animation. Again I'll try to post something I've done soon.

The scan wasn't very good but it gives you an idea of what I've been working on lately. The light shading on the face doesn't show up but it is there. This is Perrin at 1yr

grass negative drawing

This drawing was an excersize in negative drawing. The first and second row of grass seem to be leaning in the same direction but I guess it turned out OK.

Forgotten Memorial

The scan into the computer wasn't that good (thus the dark line down the middle) but it is my best piece to date! I tried to implement the techniques from Mike Sibley's tutorials. It's the first true background I've ever accomplished. Drawn in July '03.
